The best thing to do is to meet with the agency,see how long they have been in business, do they have a full time bookeeper on the premises everyday. Look at their reference materials, ask casting directors if they use them.
There are many agencies in the city, however there are quite a few very good agencies wtih a great staff and solid reputable work ethics.
It is very important that you should feel very comfortable with the agency you choose.
Remember Agencies cannot guarantee placement! They can submit you to clients and castings, but it is up to the casting director or client to see you.
