Parents believe that if there child is cute, or talented that they should be a model or be in tv commercials. Children models can succeed in the industry and do very well. However, it really depends on what clients are looking for from day to day. An agency cannot really determine, who will work, and who won't . No agency should ever GUARANTEE work, as an agencies job is to submit the children to the appropriate castings, with hopes of getting the child an audition or perhaps a booking. A lot can depend on what the child looks like, behaviour, personality, sizes and of course great parents.
To submit children to the right clients, children must have great photos that represent the child to the best of their ability. Each agency in Toronto, has a specific style that they prefer. Most agencies work with photographers that they have built good relationships with over the years. The photographers know how the children should be photographed for the agencies clients that book the children.
It is not a get rich quick. It take months or even years of hard work and money to be successful. There are thousands of children, wanting to work in the industry.
It like anything else, is very competitve.
An agency must represent, all different, ages, sizes and shapes of children for their clients.

DO I NEED TRAINING TO BECOME A MODEL
Professional training can be a vital advantage in any highly competitive field and most clients do not want to book a total beginner. Besides, the skills and knowledge acquired during training can be applied to any other pursuit or endeavor. Clients pay a lot of money to hire a model, it is very important that you know what you are doing, how to pose, how to walk, what to bring to a booking. So many new models never get booked again, because they are not prepared or trained
Types of Modelling
Types of Modelling, there are a variety of types of modelling. Basically anbody can model.
Fashion Modelling - Females must be 5'8 at minimum to 5'11
Fashion Modelling Males must be 5'11 to 6'2
Lifestyle - Any age or Size mostly product must have good personality
Kids- must have a great personality and does not make strange.
Models must be available and have a flexible schedule. As you can get called the same day or one day notice to do a job.
